A wind-protected outdoor venue with built-in seating

Nestled between ACMI and the East Shard buildings, the dramatic sandstone steps of Flinders St Amphitheatre lead down to a wide, open yet protected space, making the venue perfect for performances, outdoor screenings, site-specific art installations and experiential brand activations.

Located directly opposite St Paul’s Cathedral, Flinders St Amphitheatre connects Western Terrace and the Main Square to Flinders Street, via sandstone steps – perfect for crowds to sit, gather and watch a performance or screening.

The dramatic architecture of two of Fed Square’s buildings enclose the space, protecting visitors from the wind and providing a captivating frame for performances or installations.

The open clearing at the base of the steps can be dressed for a range of immersive brand activations, providing visitors with a moment of respite in the busy city.
