With a capacity of 270 for cocktail and 130 for seated events, this unique warehouse space is popular for corporate events, product launches, workshops and presentations. The outdoor courtyard area is a big bonus and the catering room, roller door access and loading bays make it uber easy to for event planners to pull off “the event of the decade” flawlessly.

Located behind another building in Moorabbin stands this large industrial space with concrete floors, exposed metal beams and a high roof pitch. With an abundance of natural light and room to move, Warehouse 35 has hosted events from car launches to weddings.

This is the perfect DIY venue, in fact, let your mind run wild. If you don’t want the hassle of sorting out everything but you love this moody type of space, the Warehouse 35 team will help you with whatever you need, they know how to transform it. Due to the size and the roller door access, there’s not much that is off the cards; think food trucks, drinks carts, a performance with staging or a circus act.

3. TWOTONMAX IN NORTH MELBOURNE

This industrial style venue is hidden behind an anonymous street front in North Melbourne. Its high ceilings and beautifully detailed warehouse features strikes a balance against the burnished concrete flooring. An oversize marble service bar is coupled with a commercial kitchen, sparkling bathrooms, air conditioning and other facilities, all well integrated into the venue.

Choose your own suppliers or let Twotonmax take the load. *Service of alcohol must be taken care of by their preferred suppliers list and the venue manager will assist with arranging the licensing requirements.

The vintage overhead crane (two ton max capacity) can be called into duty should it be required and direct street access allows for easy bump-in. Ample rigging points and flexible electrical layout make it an easy venue to quickly and effectively tailor.

This 120 sqm pillarless room, filled with natural light, has a stage, dimmable lighting and a breakout boardroom. The connected kitchen makes it BYO friendly so you can keep your end-of-event bevvies nice and cold….and *you can arrange a caterer if needed, providing they have a Gold Catering Licence. This is a flexible, industrial-chic event space that is perfect for briefings, presentations, workshops, launches and networking.

5. ELLIS STREET STUDIO IN SOUTH YARRA

Located in the heart of South Yarra, Ellis Steet Studio is a light, bright and open plan contemporary warehouse ready for you to put your event stamp on it. With modern interiors, ambient lighting and polished concrete floors, this is the perfect bank canvas for you to host your cocktail event, a sit-down banquet or a private, intimate dinner.

The venue has colour adaptable lighting to help you create the mood you wish and comes with an integrated stereo system and cordless microphone. The full commercial kitchen, direct street access and roller door all add to the ease of this DIY venue.

If your guests are night-owls, they will appreciate the 3am late license for Friday and Saturday nights and 1am on all other nights.

6. THE GEORGE LOUNGE IN ST KILDA

On the corner of Fitroy and Grey Streets on St.Kilda is the beautiful, heritage listed George Hotel. Wonder downstairs to the basement and you’ll find The George Lounge, a 1970s Miami and New York inspired luxe lounge with laid back vibes and a big sprinkle of “cool”. If St Kilda was your “hood” in the early 2000’s you probably know this venue as the Snakepit and have a story or two to tell.

Essentially, this basement venue has had a complete facelift and is now a warm and inviting spot for your next event. With a capacity of 120 peeps and an open plan design, the George Lounge can accommodate functions of various sizes and can be tailored to your needs. With a license until 3am, you can relax in the lounge until the early hours or head into the side room and dance the night away.

There are 3 options for venue hire; full venue (120 people), Main Bar (100 people) and the VIP Side room (30-50people). A range of drink packages are available, and you can arrange your own caterer.

No worries, they’ve done it all. The owners offer a full event planning service or will let you do your stuff in true blank canvas style and help in any way they can along the way.

The bright and fresh warehouse comes with indoor and outdoor areas that can be easily tailored to suit your needs. Indoors is split between two spaces; a synthetic grassed area with exposed beams & high ceilings and a polished concrete floor area. Outside is large enough for food vans or a great additional space to use or let your guests just enjoy. Whatever you’re seeking, the space can be tailored to create a unique experience for you and your guests.

8. GROW EVENT SPACE IN BAYSIDE

This bright, modern and fresh venue space located in the tranquil grounds of Gills nursery in Bayside is abundant in natural light and lush greenery. Inside it has a clean open plan design with polished concrete, natural oak and floor to ceiling windows that bring the outside in. Step out onto the pool terrace and be impressed by the designer pots and mature plants, this space is perfect for pre-dinner drinks, breakout spaces or even a wedding ceremony.

With a capacity of up to 100 guests for a sit down dinner and 200 guests for a cocktail style event, the space can also be tailored for smaller events. Grow’s catering partners Fred & Ginger are create custom menus for each event. BYO drinks are available and can be served at their custom made bar with an impressive vertical garden as the backdrop.

9. GLASSHAUS INSIDE IN CREMORNE

Award-winning, design nursery Glasshaus is home to one of Melbourne’s hidden gems. This 1920s warehouse; Glasshaus Inside is where industrial chic meets botanical splendour with plants draping from the walls and showered in natural light. If you want a venue that is already impeccably styled, this is it. With an abundance of plants and foliage, the space already oozes ambience. Choose your own caterer and furniture hire or ask Glasshaus provide their own packages.

Accommodating up to 88 for sit-down and 95 for cocktail events with a large rustic table that is often used as the bar. They have a range of AV systems and a dedicated catering space. If you are looking for an outdoor space, check out their second venue, Glasshaus Outside, only 5 minutes walk away which is ideal for day-time events.

10. THE WOOL MILL IN BRUNSWICK EAST

Down a quiet laneway in Brunswick East, you’ll find one of Melbourne’s oldest Wool Mills tucked down a quiet laneway. With over 1000sqm of versatile space and set over two levels, this venue can host fashion shows, performances, product launches, workshops and weddings, with a capacity of up to 200 guests.

This beautifully restored warehouse features exposed brick walls, soaring ceilings and luscious greenery. The upper space looks over the large ground floor banquet hall with exposed timber beams and concrete floors. The Wool Mill is owned by the Nudo event planning company that can provide all-inclusive options if desired.
